Pretending I was on a tight rope
Pretending that if I fell off I wouldn't survive
I'd jump from rail to rail and follow the tracks all over town
Over brides
Through the back roads..
Im staring at the memories and I can't help but see you
I see those blue eyes
I see a single tear

You look at me with a second of hesitation
But the train was too close
It took you away before the barefoot girl could catch you
I feel myself lurch forward
But my knees buckle and bring me to the ground
My eyes won't meet the gaze of those around me
My hands grasp my sides as if to force the air back into me
My gaze inches upward to see what's left
The tracks are abandoned yet showered in sunlight
Through my tears I see a glimpse of where you stood
I see all those who love you holding each other

The air is filled with character and love
That which you gave us
I look down at what I imagined to be despair
Below me were flowers that filled the cracks and stars that shone with hope
I stare at the infinite vanishing point
